Brindishe Green is a community primary school located within Hither Green - South East London. We have created a 2021 Big Half running team consisting of parents/careers and teachers, all willing to take on the challenge of 13.1 miles taking place on April 25th 2021. We want to raise as much as possible in order to be able to give the children new sports and playground equipment.
Being able to complete the course whilst knowing we are raising money for such a great cause will be so much more rewarding. It is the driving factor on those tough training days. All age groups will benefit from the funds raised, whether you are one of the members of the Big Half team or you are donating, everyone will feel a huge sense of achievement with the same outcome - The benefits for the children of Brindishe Green.
Sport isn't just good for children's bodies, its also good for their minds. Research shows that sport has psychological benefits and teaches them important life skills. Sport helps children to cope with the highs and lows, it teaches them to lose and subsequently teaches them to bounce back and grow. Controlling emotions and developing patience is also a known result from sport. Playing in a team can boost self-esteem.
Our mission - 22 ordinary adults representing Brindishe Green have volunteered to run a half marathon. Some may love, some may loath, some may not have run before. Each adult a different story but wanting to take on the challenge to raise money for the children, to be able to buy new playground/sports equipment.
Our aim is to encourage development, fresh air all whilst having fun. Each and every child at the school will benefit and will be overwhelmed by the new equipment.
Please donate what you can to help us achieve our goal.
