Like all schools we have responded quickly to new ways of working in the current crisis and are teaching remotely. We are fortunate to already have a well developed cloud-based learning platform in Google Classroom with other resources to support learning outside the traditional classroom-based lesson. We have quickly developed ways to support our students more widely as they work remotely for example with access to devices, supermarket vouchers, recipes, fitness challenges, online assemblies and more.
Around half of our students come from disadvantaged backgrounds and we are seeking additional funding to enable us to
- purchase reading books and core texts to support the English curriculum, literacy and reading for pleasure
- provide additional input to a new rewards policy to support new kinds of engagement in remote learning
- provide stationery and learning resources where required by students
- aid teachers in preparing and sharing high quality resources by supporting the sourcing of 'tech packs'
